Early in our travels through Croatia, I walked into the bathroom at our Airbnb and shouted:

“We have a bidet!  That’s SO cool!!!”

I had seen a bidet but had never used one.

This one looked a little different but I was looking forward to becoming more “cultured” on this trip.

The OVER-thinker

Over the next couple days, I saw the bidet in the bathroom regularly (no pun intended) and pondered how to work up the courage to use it.

There was no instruction manual in the bathroom and I didn’t think anyone on YouTube would talk about such a personal topic.

Since I couldn’t quite make sense of exactly how to use it, I started to doubt that it actually was a bidet.

I mean…  there was a drain plug in it.  Why would a bidet need to hold water?

Also, I thought bidets had spray hoses and such, and this one didn’t.

Therefore, the only logical conclusion I could make was that it must be something other than a bidet.

But What Could It Be?

• It was near the bath tub so was it a special sink for washing feet?  Perhaps to wash off dirty feet from the beach?
• It was also near the washing machine and had a drain stopper so maybe it was for washing your delicate laundry…

I made an executive decision…

Laundry Time

You guessed it!

I filled the basin with water and detergent, and then washed all my delicates in it!

It actually seemed to work out quite well…  *shrug*

You Can’t Make This Up

After all my laundry was done, I texted a couple friends, explaining what I had done. “Oh my gosh, you guys, I totally thought we had a bidet in our bathroom. Turns out it’s a special sink to wash your delicates in.”

They immediately started laughing and suggested I ask my friend Google for a picture of a bidet, which I did…

Here was one of the first Google images that came up:

OMG!  It was a spittin’ image of what was in our bathroom!!

It was a bidet after all and I should’ve trusted my gut from the beginning!  LOL

In the end, my laundry turned out just fine but I’m still hoping our Airbnb host thoroughly cleaned the bidet before our arrival.
